Accessibility at ARFET Global College

Learning should be accessible to everyone.

ARFET Global College is committed to making its online information and learning experience as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible. As a 100% online school, we recognise that learners and families may use different devices, assistive technologies, internet connections and learning needs.

We aim to present information clearly, make key website functions usable with a keyboard, provide readable text and colour contrast, and make learning materials available in formats that support a range of needs. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we welcome feedback that helps us remove barriers.

Our accessibility approach

  • Website navigation: consistent menus, clear headings, descriptive links, visible keyboard focus and forms with clear labels.
  • Text and colour: legible text, sufficient contrast and layouts that work on mobile devices. Colour is never the only way important information is shown.
  • Images, audio and video: informative images have alternative text. Videos include captions where available.
  • Online learning materials: where possible, resources use accessible formats. If a resource cannot be used, contact the College to discuss an alternative.
  • Assistive technology: learners who use screen readers, magnification, captions, speech input or keyboard navigation are encouraged to tell us about barriers.

Requesting accessibility support

If you have difficulty using the website, the application form, the learning platform or a course resource, email info@arfet-global.com.ng or WhatsApp 09034201468. Describe the page or resource, the difficulty and the support or alternative format you need. Please do not include unnecessary medical or sensitive personal information.

Online Safety & Digital Conduct

Stay safe, respectful and responsible online.

Online safety depends on students, parents or guardians, tutors and College staff working together. Everyone is expected to communicate respectfully, protect personal information and report behaviour or content that causes concern.

Protect your account

  • Use a strong, unique password and do not share it.
  • Never share one-time verification codes, password reset links or login details with anyone.
  • Log out on shared devices and do not save passwords on public computers.
  • Report any suspected account access to the College through the official contact channels.
  • Be cautious of unexpected messages asking for money or personal information.

Safe participation in online classes

  • Join lessons using the approved class link and follow your tutor's instructions.
  • Do not record, photograph, copy or share a lesson or another learner's contribution unless expressly permitted.
  • Do not share class links or invite unauthorised people into a session.
  • Use respectful language. Disruptive, threatening, discriminatory or humiliating behaviour is not acceptable.

Privacy

Share only the information needed for learning. Do not publish your home address, personal phone number, passwords, identity documents or another person's private information in class chats, public groups or social media.

Cyberbullying and harassment

Cyberbullying includes repeated insults, threats, humiliation, exclusion, impersonation or sharing private images without permission. Harassment, intimidation, discriminatory abuse, sexual exploitation, grooming and threats are not acceptable. Keep relevant evidence where safe, avoid retaliation, and report promptly. Do not forward harmful or intimate material.

How to report a safety concern

  • Immediate danger: contact local emergency services or a trusted responsible adult straight away. Do not wait for a website response.
  • Other concerns: send your report through the Contact Us page and mark it "Safeguarding".
  • What to include: the date, the platform or class involved, and a factual description. Share evidence only through a secure channel.
  • Next steps: the College will review the report, take appropriate action within its role and explain next steps where it safely can.

Responsible use of AI and digital tools

Follow the instructions for each assignment. AI tools must not be used to present another person's work as your own, fabricate sources or bypass assessment rules. Where AI use is permitted, follow your tutor's disclosure and citation instructions.

Parent & Guardian Information Centre

Working together to support every learner.

ARFET Global College recognises that parents and guardians play an important role in a learner's education. Our partnership with families focuses on communication, encouragement, healthy study routines and appropriate use of our online learning services.

Access to a learner's personal information depends on the learner's age, privacy requirements, College policies and the permissions recorded on the learner's account.

How parents and guardians can support learning

  • Help the learner set a regular study routine and a suitable place to learn.
  • Encourage punctual attendance at scheduled online lessons where the programme includes them.
  • Support the learner to plan assignments and meet deadlines, without completing the work for them.
  • Encourage respectful communication with tutors and College staff.
  • Discuss progress and challenges in a supportive way.
  • Help the learner protect login details and stay safe online.

Using the Parent Portal

The Parent Portal is for parents or guardians whose relationship with the learner has been verified and authorised. Depending on the features enabled, it may show announcements, progress information, participation records, tutor feedback and communication from the College. Keep your login details confidential. If your access is incorrect or your learner link needs updating, contact the College through Contact Us.

Communication with the College

  • Enrolment: Admissions, Contact admin (Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM WAT).
  • Learning questions: academic support, via Contact Us.
  • Urgent welfare or safeguarding concerns: see the Online Safety page for how to report them.

Privacy and parent access

The College handles learner information in line with its privacy notice. Parent access may be limited or adjusted depending on the learner's age, consent, legal rights, safety considerations and verified records. A parent account does not automatically give access to every record or private communication.

Certificates, Completion & Verification

Understand your programme completion and certificate information.

ARFET Global College aims to make completion documents and certificates clear before you enrol. The document a learner receives depends on the programme, its stated completion requirements and the organisation responsible for issuing it.

Please read the certificate information on your programme page and contact the College with any questions before you make an enrolment or payment decision.

Types of completion documents

A programme may provide a certificate of completion, a participation statement, an academic report or another record, where specified. The exact document, title and issuer are stated on the relevant programme page.

Completion requirements

Each programme page explains what a learner must do to qualify for its completion document. This may include completing learning activities, meeting any attendance or participation expectations, submitting assignments and completing assessments.

Who issues the certificate?

The programme page names the organisation that issues the certificate or completion document. Where ARFET Global College issues a document, we say so. Where another organisation issues it, the programme page explains that organisation's role.

Accreditation and recognition

A certificate of completion does not automatically mean that a programme is accredited, that the certificate is a regulated qualification, or that every employer, university or government agency accepts it. Check recognition requirements with the organisation where you plan to use the certificate.

Lost or damaged certificate

Email info@arfet-global.com.ng with your full name, programme, approximate completion date and certificate reference number if you have one. We will explain whether a replacement or confirmation letter is available and any process or fee that applies.

Complaints, Concerns & Appeals

Your concerns matter. We are committed to listening and responding fairly.

If a learner, parent or guardian is dissatisfied with a service, decision or experience, they may raise a concern through the College's complaints process. We aim to handle complaints fairly, respectfully and as confidentially as reasonably possible.

What can be raised?

  • Academic support, teaching or learning services.
  • Assessment decisions, where an appeal is allowed by programme rules.
  • Tutor or staff conduct.
  • Admissions, enrolment or application handling.
  • Fees, payments or administration.
  • Online learning platform or technical support.
  • Learner welfare, safeguarding or online conduct.

How the process works

  • Submit: send a factual description of the concern and the outcome you are asking for.
  • Acknowledgement: the College confirms receipt and gives you a case reference.
  • Review: an authorised person reviews the information and may ask for clarification or evidence.
  • Response: the College sends its decision, its reasons and any action it can disclose.
  • Appeal: where policy allows, you may request a review and explain the grounds.
  • Closure: the outcome is recorded and the case is closed.

Appeals

An appeal asks for a review of a decision made through the complaints or academic process. It should name the decision and the grounds, such as a procedural error, relevant new information, or policy not being applied correctly. An appeal is not automatically a second attempt at an assessment.

Response times

Response timeframes will be published once they have been approved by College management.

Safeguarding and urgent concerns

A complaint is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted adult straight away.

Submit a complaint or appeal

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted adult first. Do not wait for this form.
